FIRST-LINE ERTZAINAS

The new Preventive and Immediate Response Patrols, also known as PRI or 'Bizkor' (which means “quick” in Basque) are an intermediate point between citizen security and intervention SWATs.

Service description.

The objective is to guarantee a preventive service with immediate specialized response response (24h) throughout the territory thanks to the Mobile Brigade (BM) that is comprehensive and scalable.

Unit functions

Following orders from the Ministry of Security of the Basque Government, the Bizkor units carry out prevention functions, planned actions and intervention in incidents.

Permanent presence

The Bizkor are activated 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, being their presence permanent by means of three patrols, one for each Basque historical territory.

Unit Equipment

The Bizkor are equipped to act in critical situations, although most are outfitted with vehicles and specific materials for prevention and safety tasks.

Preparation & Training

The preparation and formation of the units is continuous and permanent either individually or collectively and in all fields and capacities.

Comprehensive scalable response

Comprehensive, scalable response with units located halfway between the traditional agents of civil safety and the equipments SWAT of intervention.
